This is a silver Selmer Super Action 80 Series III tenor saxophone (serial number N569705) that Grammy award-winning jazz legend Michael Brecker played and selected at the Henri Selmer Paris factory in 2006, a year before his death, for his famous photographer friend Peter Freed. He blew through 15 horns before deciding on the exact sound and intonation of this horn. The instrument's history is documented and verified by Paul Scattaretico, the owner of the Muzic Store in Dobbs Ferry, NY. The instrument has been rarely used for the last seven years but has been kept in excellent condition through periodic maintenance. The tenor will come with a professional black fiberglass Walt Johnson hardcase, Meyer 6M mouthpiece (with ligature), Selmer S-80 C mouthpiece (with ligature and case), metal tenor reed case, Yamaha pad cleaning paper, Vandoren mouthpiece cushions, and cleaning swab rod.
Reasonable offers are welcome for this one-of-a-kind instrument. This tenor is perfect for a professional or amateur musician alike and its being personally played and chosen by Michael Brecker makes it extremely valuable to any jazz enthusiast or instrument collector.
