A wide sound with a darker colouring than all lower positioned Altus instruments. Because of the modulation capacity of the sound, the notes' carrying capacity and its dynamic range, the Altus 1107 is particularly suitable for the gifted and ambitious flutist. The Altus 1107 is available with a S-cut or a Z-cut head joint. Its pure tonal center allows the artist great flexibility with an infinite color palette.

The Z-cut head joint, with a more rectangular embouchure hole with minimal over and undercutting, produces a quick response without sacrificing flexibility or control. The sound is open and free with a darker tonal color.
