Selmer Super Balanced Action Vintage Alto Sax #48xxx Made in France 1952 w/ case. This sax has a warm, rich tone, buttery-smooth keywork, and a beautifully engraved exterior. It was completely overhauled in 2017, and played very lightly since, so the pads are like new. The horn has never been buffed; the engraving is extremely crisp. The plating is worn through on the underside of the gold wash bell, as shown in one of the pictures. Based on the serial number, this Selmer SBA sax was made in France in 1952. Selmer Saxophones have been favored by such world-class musicians as John Coltrane, Paul Desmond, Dexter Gordon, Ornette Coleman, Hank Mobley, and many other ground-breaking saxophonists.
