The horn has a friction-fit of the bell to slide connection, but there is a slide lock. The slide action of this vintage instrument is playable, but has a residual'graininess'.
The slide has been cleaned and honed. There is a mid slow spot, but has good compression. Instrument is not lacquered; therefore, this instrument may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish). 468 and the bell flare is 8. The slide is not perfect, but the horn plays nicely with a mellow, soft tone if needed and can also get powerful!
