Superb Vintage Buescher Bass Saxophone, All New Pads, New Case, 100% Orig Silver

  

WICHITA BAND INSTRUMENT COMPANY 2525 East Douglas Avenue Wichita, KS 67211. Here's a superb and totally original bass, the finest we've had for several years. Buescher Bb bass saxophone, #112,537, made in Elkhart (USA) in 1922 / 1923. This one's unique in that it wears 100 PERCENT ORIGNAL SILVER PLATE.

You're seeing this beauty as it's come to us. Scheduled for a full repad, recork and polish, it should be ready to show by the END OF MARCH. Minor dings to the body, but no big damage, ever.

We'll magnetize as necessary, believe we can remove 99% of the dings without having to unsolder anything. New case,'cause the old one disintegrated. Do a little internet research and you'll learn about the "Brown Brothers" saxophone sextet.

Always used Bueschers, nothing else. Century saxophone concert artist / virtuoso Sigurd Rascher also always used Bueschers. "Closest to the original design of Aldophe Sax", he's been reputed as saying. Selmer-France makes a beautiful bass, of course. But they're beastly expensive and I, personally, prefer a good vintage American bass. Conn's are good, but Bueschers are also very good....

And the octave mechanism on the Bueschers is a better design, easier to keep in adjustment. ALL THE FINEST violins have names, of course.... The "Alard" or the "Lady Blunt" or the "Messiah"....

Three of the finest violins ever created.... The jewels of western civilization. This beautiful Buescher is so classy, so beautiful that we've named it after a member of British Royalty. We thought about "Elizabeth the queen", decided. "BIG BETTY" was more appropriate.

All foolishness aside, this is a super bass, not pristine but close. Ready for you to play in a Brown Brothers Sextet before the middle of April!
