Vintage Possibly Pre-War Silver Plated Bb Trumpet Made by Besson. Serial Number 94676 Made in the 1940's with a Bach Mt Vernon Bell Section Sweet Lively Bright Tone Compression 100%. Another beautiful collectible and rare trumpet! This beautiful instrument is a combination of a Bach Mt Vernon and a French Besson. Played in this combination for 50 years by a famous jazz trumpeter who recently passed away. This vintage Paris made Besson trumpet serial number 94676 was made c. 1940's and possibly pre-war. The Bach Mt Vernon bell section was made before the move to Elkhart in 1964, and probably dates from the late 1950's. This Bb trumpet was kept in impeccable playing condition and still plays like a dream.

Cosmetic issues include two patches, spots of plating wear, various stray solder marks, minor ripples from a previous bell dent removal. Just cleaned and oiled and all slides and valves work perfectly. The compression is 100% perfect. Bell measures 4 3/4 and the bore appears to be. The most amazing thing about this horn is the sound!

I've never played a horn that felt so effortless to play. The sound is resonant, full yet full of sweetness and color. Not only are these two of the best trumpets ever made combined, it also was played 10 to 12 hours a day for 50 years.

Nothing can replace that kind of age conditioning. You wont believe you ears. This rare vintage trumpet will include a Protec ProPac case, a Bach 7C mouthpiece and valve oil.
