1941 Conn 22b Trumpet With 1927 Bell Stunning Looks & Performance

  

NOTE TO THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE "WATCHING" THIS LISTING. It is NOT going any lower, as we have considerable time invested in this trumpet. Yellow brass 1941 Conn 22B trumpet. Silver plated yellow brass 1927 Conn 22B 4-5/8 bell. Bell is typical frosted/polished silver plate with gold inside the bell flare.

Bottom sprung valves are in very nice shape with good fit and excellent compression. All new corks and felts on valves. New corks in silver plated water keys. Entire trumpet has been lacquered except for the original gold inside the bell. Period correct Conn 4 mouthpiece is included.

This trumpet came to us with its original serial numbered valves with all the correct numbered caps and guides, all in great condition. Not so for the original bell but we had this nice 27 bell which is the same size as the original, just prettier. Gives it a look similar to the early Kings that came with a silver bell on a brass trumpet. Like King, we lacquered both the brass and the silver, so you wont need to fuss with tarnish and polishing. It had a week area in the crook of the main tuning slide from dent removal.

We used a section of a later model Conn. 460 bore main slide to use as a nice fitting patch.

These 22Bs built between the late 1930s and the early 1950s with bottom-sprung valves were not only some of the best trumpets ever made by C. In Elkhart, Indiana, but they were just some of the best playing trumpets ever made by anyone ever. This one, with its engraved-silver plated bell is definitely a nice looker, but more importantly it is a good playing example of one of the best playing trumpet models ever made. You may notice the water key corks only show in the exploded view photo. They were not installed in the rest of the pictures.
